There is a well-known quote by Rumi that inspired me to create this piece: “If everything around you seems dark, look again, you may be the light.” During periods of internal strife and external struggles, when the world feels very dark and the future is uncertain, one small action can be a powerful catalyst for positive change.
Surrounded by ominous, thick, black borders that threaten to cage them in forever, the vibrant and determined colors begin to swirl together with purpose and ferocity…realizing their limitless power as a collective whole and they fearlessly begin to leap off of the canvas…to chaotic, too beautiful, too resilient to be restrained. The spectrum of colors represents the magnificent diversity all around us, which becomes infinitely more powerful when working together in harmony. When each of us seeks the light within ourselves and unselfishly shares it out with the world, we become an omnipotent force that can overcome any darkness surrounding us. We refuse to succumb to malevolence and instead choose to love; we become the unstoppable catalysts who will ensure a brighter tomorrow for us all.
